A Facebook post from David Luiz in 2013 about Chelsea teammate Andreas Christensen has resurfaced after Sunday's 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
The Brazilian centre-back was dropped from Antonio Conte's team for the game, replaced by 21-year-old Christensen, who has returned to Stamford Bridge after two seasons on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Conte insisted that the decision was tactical, but it has led to speculation that Luiz's future at the club may now be in doubt.
"It was a tactical decision," said the Italian coach, quoted by the Telegraph. "There is Christensen in really good form and also we have [Ethan] Ampadu who is a good young player. The club like to play with the young player.
"We are conceding many goals so you have to find stability and solidity. We have to be patient with the team and defend in the right way."
And now, unfortunately for Luiz, a four-year-old Facebook post has re-emerged. "He definitely will have a great future. My friend Andreas Christensen", the defender wrote alongside a picture of the two in the Chelsea dressing room.
It appears that Luiz will now have to work hard to regain his place from Christensen, who impressed in keeping a clean sheet against United.
"I don't know," said Conte when asked if Luiz will stay at Chelsea. "He has to work really hard otherwise [he is] on the bench or in the stand. But it can change, it can change."
