Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has opened up on his famous goal against Arsenal in the 1999 FA Cup semi-final replay, admitting that while he himself has no regrets about his eventual celebration, he did notice something interesting that no one else has picked up on in the last 18 years, as he revealed at a 'Class of 92' Q&A session

It's one of the most famous goals scored in Manchester United history - let alone Ryan Giggs' illustrious playing career. A loose pass from Arsenal's Patrick Vieira was picked up by the Welshman in his own half. Giggs goes on to dazzle the Arsenal defence before smashing the ball into the roof of the net.

Much to his shame, the Welshman ripped off his shirt a spun it around in celebration - revealing his monstrous gorilla chest. And while he wouldn't change his actions now, he does wish Paul Scholes had joined him.

“The only regret I do have is something that Scholesy didn’t do,” Giggs told Rachel Riley at the Class of '92 Q&A - promoting Adidas' new 'ninety two' shoe.

“I was watching it back six months ago and, when I’m taking my top off, you can see that Scholesy goes to take his off too.

“If he had done that then it would have got me out of jail!”

Of course, Scholes was then asked if he regretted not revealing his own bare chest - the answer to which you could probably predict:

“No… I’d actually shaved my chest as well!”

The Red Devils went on to lift the treble that season - beating Newcastle United in the FA Cup final and Bayern Munich in that famous Champions League success.
