Burnley manager Sean Dyche was full of praise for his side after they earned their third clean sheet in row after they drew 0-0 against Brighton on Saturday.

Brighton had the better of the chances, especially in a first half that the home side dominated,

with their best being a skied penalty from Glenn Murray after he was brought down by James Tarkowski.

Burnley however could've won the game with some of their second half chances, but Matt Ryan was in inspired form to deny Scott Arfield twice in quick succession and Chris Wood late in the game, although Dyche was happy with his side's performance after the final whistle.

Speaking post-match to Sky Sports, Dyche said: "I'm pleased with the performance overall, not as good as it has been, but three games in a week is hard physically.

"It was a hard-fought point on the back of another clean sheet. That's three clean sheets and seven points in a week in the Premier League, which is very difficult to get so we're pleased with that."

The point earned by Burnley on the South Coast sees them move up to 5th in the table, just a point and place behind Arsenal in 4th as Sean Dyche's side continues to surpass all expectations.

The point could've been three after their improved second half performance, although Dyche was pleased to take a point back to Lancashire.

He continued, stating: "To handle the first half like we did and then to come strong in the second half was a good sign for our own side moving forward.

"We had some golden moments and a marginal decision on an offside. Wood has gone through one v one, but the keeper has done well.

"It's hard to over-question my players because they're giving a lot to the cause, and they're getting the rewards I think. It's a big week and another point on the table."

Burnley now face two tricky games in a hectic Christmas schedule. The Clarets host Tottenham next Saturday in the evening kick-off, before a tough trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Boxing Day.
