BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) – Diego Maradona is leaving the dugout for the director's box.
The former Argentina great announced Tuesday that he will become chairman of Belarusian club Dinamo Brest.
The 57-year-old Maradona said posted a photo of his new contract on his Instagram, with the note: ''Thanks for the confidence and for thinking of me.''
The 1986 World Cup champion recently finished a tenure as coach of the United Arab Emirates' second-division club Al Fujairah. His contract was not extended after he failed to reach the country's top league.
Dinamo Brest said on its Twitter account that Maradona signed a three-year deal, and will take up the role after the World Cup in Russia ends.
