Borussia Dortmund are planning on securing a deal for Morocco international midfielder Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

The Black and Yellows have flirted with a move for Ziyech is the past but so far a deal hasn't been able to get off the ground, with Ajax eager to hold onto their star player at all costs.

However, Borussia Dortmund are currently six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga this season and are eager to win the league title for the first time since 2012, as well as continue their run in the Champions League and DFB-Pokal.

France Football report that they will look to strengthen their hold on top spot by making a late attempt to sign Ajax star Ziyech on Deadline Day.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly willing to meet Ziyech's estimated value of €35m, but they are facing resistance from Ajax director Marc Overmars.

The Dutch giants have already sanctioned a deal that will see Frenkie de Jong join Barcelona at the end of the season, while they're also expected to lose star defender Matthijs de Ligt during the summer.

AS Roma are claimed to be interested in signing Ziyech, but it appears that Overmars' stance will remain the biggest hurdle of Borussia Dortmund in their late attempt to sign Achraf Hakimi's international teammate during the January transfer window.

Marco Reus' largely injury-free season has seen him nail down a position in behind the striker in Dortmund's first team, something which could see Ziyech - naturally, a number 10 - forced out on the left to take over from Jacob Bruun Larsen or more recently Raphaël Guerreiro.
