Champions League how to watch

The Champions League returns this week after a brief hiatus. With two rounds of matches already played, we’re getting into the thick of things in the Group Stage. With plenty of different matches this week, here’s a look at some of the high profile tilts.

How to watch:

Date: Tues. Oct. 22 - Wed. Oct 23

TV Channel: TUDN, TNT

Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Group H is arguably the most interesting group with four quality teams capable of advancing. Ajax, one of last year’s semifinalists, who was minutes away from the final, face-off against Chelsea in a crucial match on Wednesday. The Amsterdam club is predictably atop the Eredivisie with eight wins and two draws in an unbeaten start to the season. They’ve also started their group stage with two wins. Meanwhile, Chelsea has also hit a good run of form. It’s young squad is adapting to new coach Frank Lampard quite well. With both teams playing good soccer, it could make for a very intriguing match.

Lionel Messi is back and Barcelona isn’t far behind. A 3-0 win over Eibar has the Blaugrana back atop La Liga. Three points against Group F foe Slavia Praha on Wednesday is a must for Barcelona. An encouraging sign is the fact that Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez joined Messi on the scoresheet in the victory. If their high profile attacking trident starts to gain chemistry and confidence, it could be exactly what Ernesto Valverde has been looking for amid the team’s early season struggles.

Mighty Real Madrid finds themselves at the very bottom of Group A through two matchdays. That makes Tuesday’s matchup against Galatasaray all the more important. After the club lost 1-0 to Mallorca in La Liga over the weekend, Real Madrid’s confidence is waning. With both Madrid and the Turkish club on one point, the loser could very well see their knockout stages dream end.

After losing its first match of the season to Napoli in a Group E opener, Liverpool was made to sweat by Red Bull Salzburg for its first win of the stage. Sitting in second, they travel to Belgium to take on Genk on Wednesday in an important match. Going away from home is never easy as Jurgen Klopp’s side has already learned. To avoid another slip up, it’ll need to remain focused on defense and clinical in front of goal.
