The U.S. men's national team is up one place to 17th in the monthly FIFA ranking following its 1-0 win over the Czech Republic earlier this month.

The USA is right on the heels of CONCACAF foes Costa Rica (stayed at 15th) and Mexico (up one place to 16th) and one place ahead of England. Upcoming opponents Ecuador and Honduras, whom the USA will play on Oct. 10 and 14th, are currently ranked 21st and 56th, respectively, with Honduras taking a 13-place tumble after two wins and two losses in the Copa Centroamericana.

World Cup champion Germany remains atop the ranking despite a lopsided loss to Argentina in their World Cup final rematch. Germany followed that with a win over Scotland in Euro 2016 qualifying. Argentina comes in at No. 2.

Rounding out the top 10, in order, are: Colombia, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, France, Switzerland.

The next ranking is due to come out Oct. 23, following the next FIFA international fixture window.
