Lionel Messi joins the 700-goal club Since 2003, the Soccer star has had plenty of highlights during his pro career. On June 30 against Atletico Madrid he recorded his 700th goal. As a member of Barcelona, Messi has scored 630 times in his 724 match appearances. As a member of Argentina, he has scored 70 times in 138 matches. Messi, who just turned 33 on June 24th doesn’t seem to be slowing down. For the 12th consecutive season, Messi has scored at least 20 goals in La Liga. He looks to climb the all-time goals list before it is all said and done.
