2020 SI Sportsperson of the Year: Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes earned his place as a 2020 Sportsperson of the Year both for leading the Chiefs to a Super Bowl on the field, and for lending his voice to racial justice causes off of it.

In February, Patrick Mahomes was coming off a Super Bowl win and at the height of his young career. But, as 2020 continued, Mahomes created a more profound impact off the field, setting an example for the social justice movement and forcing the NFL to recognize racial injustices, as well as their new face of the league.
