The French Open is on pace to happen as scheduled, but what sort of plans will they have in terms of coronavirus protections considering the slight spike in COVID cases in France?
According to SI senior writer Jon Wertheim, it seems that all players will have to remain in a bubble of sorts, staying in one of two hotels throughout the tournament and not being allowed to leave except for matches. This bubble will even include players like Serena Williams, who has a residence in Paris.
However, the big question here is: will there be fans? The current answer is yes, which is causing some confusion as to why players will have to isolate but fans will be present. But as we get closer to the tournament, the number of fans allowed is going down.
