The U.S. Open gave us a glimpse of life in tennis after Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal. And while it may not have been the most promising display of tennis, that was a matter of circumstance, according to SI senior writer Jon Wertheim.

Between the unprecedented pandemic, the lack of fans in the stands, the fact that the big three all bowed out of the tournament, and general nerves, it can be understood that the championship match may not have felt like the best tennis match. But that will all change as players get more used to the spotlight.
