Week 10 NFL Injuries

David Carr

The Texans quarterback hasn't missed a game since 2003, but had to leave in the fourth quarter last week after bruising his right shoulder. While Carr's expected to play on Sunday against Buffalo, the Texans have lost offensive tackle Zach Wiegert, cornerback Lewis Sanders and defensive tackle Travis Johnson for the season.

Luke Petitgout

The injuries just keep mounting for the Giants, who lost left tackle Luke Petitgout to a broken left leg last week. Petitgout injured the leg while blocking on a pass play and joins such teammates as Amani Toomer and LaVar Arrington on the injured list.

Musa Smith

The Ravens running back was taken off on a backboard after taking a hit to the head following a five-yard reception in the second quarter. X-rays were negative, but he did not return to the game.

Deshea Townsend

The Steelers won the battle against the Saints, but a couple of their key defenders suffered concussions during the game. Townsend (pictured) had his bell rung and hurt his ankle in the first half. Earlier in the game, safety Troy Polamalu was taken to the sidelines after a concussion.

Clinton Portis

First it was a partially dislocated left shoulder, which slowed him at the beginning of the season, then a sprained ankle and now a broken right hand, which will keep the Redskins running back on the sideline for at least three weeks. Portis broke the ring finger bone during last week's loss to the Eagles and had three screws inserted on Monday. He's lucky he didn't have his neck sprained on this play.

Frank Gore

Who knows how many yards the 49ers running back would have finished with if he hadn't experienced a concussion after catching a pass in the third quarter. He had run for a career-high 159 yards up to that point, including a franchise record 148 yards in the first half.

Patrick Kerney

The Falcons 2006 sack leader (5) and ironman (105 consecutive starts) is out for the season with a torn right pectoral muscle, leaving an already depleted defense in a world of hurt. Atlanta has only gotten two games out of its other defensive end, John Abraham (groin), and lost nickel back Kevin Mathis when he injured his neck two weeks ago. Cornerback Jason Webster and linebacker Ernie Hartwell are also out indefinitely.

Tony Gonzalez

The tight end averaged more than 100 yards receiving and almost 17 yards per catch in Weeks 7-9, but sprained his left shoulder last Sunday while trying to make sure a pass wasn't intercepted. He's definitely out for this week's game against Oakland.

Orlando Pace

The Rams will be without their Pro Bowl left tackle for the remainder of the season after he suffered a torn triceps while pass blocking during last week's loss to the Seahawks. Pace had been selected to seven consecutive Pro Bowls.
