NFL by the Numbers
116 ... Brian Westbrook of the Eagles had a 62-yard touchdown run against the Saints a week after a 49-yard TD run against the Giants making him the first player in NFL history with TD runs of 49 yards or more in consecutive postseason weeks.
21 ... The Colts and Ravens combined for 21 points without a touchdown, the most points ever scored in a playoff game with no touchdowns. The previous record for highest-scoring postseason game with no touchdowns was nine, when the Rams beat the Bucs 9-0 in the 1979 NFC Championship Game on three Frank Corral field goals.
100 ... Jabar Gaffney is the first player since Ernie Mills in 1994 to record his first two 100-yard receiving games of the season in the playoffs. The most yards Gaffney had in a regular-season game was 65.
75 ... Jeff Garcia's 75-yard TD pass to Donte Stallworth allowed him to join Daryl Lamonica as the only QBs in NFL history with postseason TD passes of 75 yards or more with two teams. Garcia had a 76-yarder to Terrell Owens against the Giants in the 2002 playoffs.
27-24 ... The Saints became the first team in NFL history to beat a team in the postseason by the same score they beat that team in the regular season. The Saints defeated the Eagles twice by a 27-24 score.
141 ... Deuce McAllister broke the Saints postseason single-game rushing in each half last week. The old record was 49 yards by Fred McAfee in 1991. McAllister had 63 yards in the first half and 80 in the second.
4 ... Reggie Bush's four-yard rushing touchdown against the Eagles not only was the longest TD run in Saints postseason history, it was twice as long as all previous rushing touchdowns in Saints playoff history combined. The only previous rushing TDs in Saints history were one-yarders by Dalton Hilliard in 1991 and Craig Hayward in 1992. Bush's record didn't last long though. Deuce McAllister's five-yarder broke it later in the game.
1.46 ... Tom Brady fell from the top spot in the record book for best career postseason interception ratio when he threw three interceptions against the Chargers. His is now 1.77 and trails Bart Starr's 1.46.
49 ... Robbie Gould's 49-yard field goal in the Bears' win over Seattle was the second-longest postseason field goal in overtime and the longest outdoors. In 1989, Gary Anderson made a 50-yarder in the Steelers' wild-card win at the Astrodome. The longest previous outdoor postseason field goal was Garo Yepremian's 37-yarder at Municipal Stadium in Kansas City in 1971.
5 ... Adam Vinatieri's five field goals against the Ravens tied the NFL postseason record shared by seven players for most field goals in a postseason game.
