NFL by the Numbers
2 ... There were more TDs scored on fumble recoveries by offensive linemen in the Colts-Patriots game than in the entire history of NFL playoff football before Sunday. Logan Mankins of the Patriots and Jeff Saturday of the Colts both recovered fumbles in the end zone. The only previous postseason touchdown by an offensive lineman was Gerry Mullins of the Steelers in the 1972 AFC Championship Game.
88 ... Reggie Bush's 88-yard touchdown reception matched the longest postseason TD catch ever by a running back: Billy Cannon's scoring catch on a pass from George Blanda in the 1960 AFL Championship Game.
3 ... Colts tight end Dallas Clark has three 100-yard games in this year's playoffs, matching the number he has in 48 career regular-season games. He's the first tight end in NFL history with two 100-yard games in the same postseason.
349 ... Drew Brees passed for 349 yards Sunday and Peyton Manning of the Colts passed for 354. This is the first time a quarterback in each conference championship game has thrown for 349 or more yards.
0-9 ... With the Saints losing in Chicago, dome teams playing on the road in conference title games outdoors are now 0-9.
4-1 ... With the Colts' win over the Patriots, dome teams playing in conference title games at home are now 4-1, but the only loss was in a game between two dome teams (Atlanta at Minnesota).
123 ... Bears running back Thomas Jones needed just 19 carries to gain 123 yards against the Saints. That's the fewest carries by a running back rushing for 123 or more yards in a conference championship game in 43 years, since Keith Lincoln of the Chargers was 13-for-206 in the 1963 AFL Championship Game.
32 ... The Colts' 32 second-half points against the Patriots are the fourth-most in postseason history and the most in a conference championship game in 66 years, since the Bears scored 45 in the second half of their 73-0 win over the Redskins in the 1940 NFL Championship Game.
