LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Boxer Jermain Taylor has been ordered back to jail and must have a new mental exam.

A judge in Pulaski County issued the orders during a hearing Friday after Taylor surrendered on a second-degree battery charge, based on an allegation that he hit a resident of the treatment center where he's been since March.

His attorneys also changed Taylor's plea Friday on two prior charges to innocent by reason of mental disease or defect.

Taylor initially was arrested in January on charges of threatening a family and firing a gun during a parade in Little Rock.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1HXSpap ) that the results of the mental evaluation are to be discussed at an Aug. 24 hearing.
