Alex Owens, a highly-touted power forward from Orlando, Fla., announced on Twitter Monday that he has verbally committed to Providence.
Owens, who had been committed to CentralFlorida, is the No. 108-ranked player in the class of 2015, according to the recruiting website Rivals.com.
He drew scholarship offers from Florida, Louisville and Maryland, among other programs.

The 6-foot-8, 245-pound Owens joins three-star small forward Ryan Fazekas as the second player in the class of 2015 to commit to the Friars.
Providence went 23-12 and won the Big East Tournament last season before falling to North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
