No. 9 Michigan State completed a gritty 17–14 win over No. 3 Ohio State on a last-second field goal by Michael Geiger.

The Spartans hung tough in a low-scoring game without injured quarterback Connor Cook, throwing just 16 times to 51 rushes. Backup quarterback Tyler O’Connor led a drive in the final minutes to move the Spartans into field goal position.

Geiger split the uprights from the 41-yard line to hand the Buckeyes their first loss.

He was excited.

Michigan State and Ohio State are now 10–1, tied for first in the Big Ten East.
