Oklahoma Sooners wideout John Humphrey will transfer, he announced on Twitter.
“Came together with my family and pastor and we’ve desided that it will be in my best interest to take my talents elsewhere,” Humphrey wrote. “I wish the team and coaches the best of luck this upcoming season.”
Humphrey, a redshirt freshman, was expected to compete for a spot in the team’s regular receiving rotation next season. He returned punts during the team’s spring scrimmage.
The League City, Texas product signed with Oklahoma over several schools, including Baylor, Clemson and Notre Dame.
