The No. 1 quarterback prospect in the class of 2014 will play his football in College Station next season. Kyle Allen, the top-rated pro-style passer in next year's recruiting class, announced on Monday that he has committed to Texas A&M.
Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin offered his trademark Twitter celebration to commemorate locking up the quarterback who might follow in 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel's footsteps:
A four-star prospect according Rivals.com
out of Desert Mountain High in Scottsdale, Ariz., Allen narrowed his consideration set to Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and UCLA last week. He also fielded offers from Alabama and Wisconsin. Allen threw for 3,119 yards with 36 touchdowns and just seven interceptions during his junior campaign.
