San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has not hidden his love of fashion since joining the league, but his passion for shoes may have gotten a little bit out of control, as he recently told Haute Living magazine.

“I have two rooms full of shoes, plus my normal closet,” the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback confesses, albeit a little sheepishly. “I probably have upwards of 400 pairs of shoes.”

Kaepernick told the luxury living journal that he views fashion in the same way as his much talked about body art, as a way to express himself.

"Things that fit me, that fit my edge, might make other people feel uncomfortable. I’ve gone into press conferences with snapbacks and vests, which isn’t traditionally what people expect from a franchise quarterback. But it’s part of who I am—part of my style. The other side of the coin is that I can wear a shirt and tie and look nice and professional."

While it is always fun to get a look at an athlete's lavish lifestyle, it seems like the media is not going to take too kindly to Kaepernick talking about shoes, watches and his "brand," with his team's record at 1-2.
