Five-time NBA champion and longtime league bad boy Dennis Rodman has finally anointed his successor in today's league, taking to Twitter to proclaim J.R. Smith "The new Dennis Rodman."

Rodman was tweeting out his support for new Knicks president Phil Jackson, who coached Rodman while with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, and the forward also took the time to hand Smith the torch as the official gadfly of the NBA.

Smith is as good a choice as any, what with his love for Twitter shenanigans as well as untying the shoelaces of unsuspecting opponents.

The Knicks may want to make sure Smith skips the "befriending dictators" portion of being Rodman though.
