Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews was the surprise performer of Super Bowl XLIX's first half, making several receptions and catching a touchdown to tie the game at the end of the second quarter. MSNBC's Chris Matthews congratulated him on his performance.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews was the surprise performer of Super Bowl XLIX's first half, making several receptions and catching a touchdown to tie the game at the end of the second quarter. 

Matthews shares a name with MSNBC political pundit Chris Matthews, who tweeted his congratulations to the Seahawks wide receiver after his first-half performance.

Matthews -- the Seahawks wide receiver -- continued his stellar play in the second half, making a 45-yard catch on Seattle's opening drive of the half.
