Watch John Oliver celebrate Sepp Blatter's resignation
John Oliver has been a staunch critic of FIFA, and on the May 31 edition of Last Week Tonight he promised he would drink Bud Light Lime, eat items from the McDonald's dollar menu and wear a ridiculous pair of Adidas shoes if FIFA's sponsors helped oust Sepp Blatter.
“I will do anything ... I will even make the ultimate sacrifice,” Oliver said on his May 31 program. “Budweiser, if you pull your support and help get rid of Blatter, I will put my mouth where my mouth is and I will personally drink one of your disgusting items.”
During his most recent show on Sunday, Oliver made good on his promises.
Blatter unexpectedly announced he would step down last week. Oliver, noting that the sponsors' influence on Blatter's decision was unclear but calling himself a man of his word, ended Last Week Tonight on Sunday by taking a bite out of various McDonald's Dollar Menu items, wearing bizarre Adidas shoes and drinking Bud Light Limes.

Oliver compared Bud Light Lime to "a lime Jolly Roger fished out of Mickey Rourke's mouth," but he still drank the bottle in one swig.
Oliver may never drink a Bud Light Lime again, but considering his hatred of FIFA, it was probably a small price to pay for Sepp Blatter's exit.
