The photo of former U.S. women's soccer player Brandi Chastain after she scored the game-winning penalty shootout kick to beat China in the 1999 Women's World Cup final is often considered one of the most iconic sports moments in history.
If you need proof of that, Sports Illustrated's cover featuring the photo came in second in an online vote of the most iconic cover in SI's 60-year history last year.
One fan was apparently so inspired that he showed up at Tuesday's World Cup semifinal between the U.S. and Germany dressing the part: sports bra, wig, green turf and all. He even added his own flair with a gold medal.
The U.S. will look to capture its first World Cup title since that fateful 1999 day when it plays in Sunday's final.
