Teary-eyed Boston College senior’s favorite memory: ‘Going out to eat’

Boston College senior Dennis Clifford was brought to tears talking about “going out to eat.”

Boston College lost to Florida State on Tuesday to become the first team in ACC history to go 0–19. The Eagles’ postgame press conference was predictably emotion for senior center Dennis Clifford, but not for the reason you might think.

Clifford was asked after the game what his favorite memory of playing for BC was. His answer, after a long period of reflection, “Going out to eat.”

Of course the natural instinct is to laugh, but it’s also so, so sad. Senior year is an emotional time and I’m sure Clifford had some great times eating out with his teammates, but nothing else came to mind?
