This lacrosse team can’t really be giving away 10 free beers, can it?

The Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League are hosting a beer event before Saturday’s game. A ticket to game comes with 10 beer tickets.

The Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League are hosting a beer event before Saturday’s game. A ticket to game comes with 10 beer tickets. That’s a lot of tickets.

Barstool Sports, noted for its measured approach to blogging, interprets this to mean fans are getting 10 free beers with their tickets. But that can’t really be the case, can it?

Maybe the beers are small. Maybe different beers cost a different number of tickets. Maybe you dissolve the tickets into a bottle of water to make your own beer.

Quiz: Should I watch the Warriors or Kobe’s last game?

Or maybe people in Western New York just have really formidable livers.

(UPDATE: The Knighthawks inform SI.com that the beers are sample-sized. That’s a relief.)
