LeeAdianez Rodriguez woke up on Sunday prepared to run the Rochester Regional Health Flower City Challenge 5K, but ended up adding an extra 10 miles onto her trip when the 12-year-old accidentally joined the half-marathon being run the same day.

Rodriguez thought she was running late when she arrived at the start line and joined a group of runners who were competing in the much longer distance over the weekend. The Wegmans Family 5K she was scheduled to run in actually began on the same bridge 15 minutes after the longer distance race’s start, according to the Democrat & Chronicle.

The Associated Press reports the girl realized about halfway through the race that she was actually on the 13.1 mile track, but decided to power through. She finished with a time of 2:43:31 and was greeted at the finish line by her worried and confused mother.
