Johnny Cueto’s Happy Gilmore swing failed miserably but it’s still delightful

The Giants’ hitting coach won’t be happy with Johnny Cueto.

Johnny Cueto made a compelling case against the universal DH in Wednesday night’s game against the Dodgers.

He had already struck out once against Rich Hill when he decided he needed to try something a little unorthodox if he wanted to get a hit. Cueto saw a hanging curveball and decided to try to tee off on it, just like Happy Gilmore.

Yu Darvish may have cranked a home run, but this is definitely the most enjoyable pitcher hitting performance of the night. We won’t be laughing when Cueto uses his new swing to become a fearsome power hitter.
