The conundrum every college student faces is this: They want to buy beer; they have no money to buy beer.
One fan at ESPN’s College Gameday found a simple solution to this problem. Sometimes all you have to do is ask.
A guy named Sam Crowder brought a sign to the Gameday set telling his mom to send money. But because he included his Venmo information, anyone with the money sharing app could send him some cash.

Sure enough, hundreds and hundreds of people around the country have sent this guy money. If you go to his Venmo profile, there are tens of payments rolling in every minute.
Venmo said later Saturday that the tally was up over 2,000 payments.

So, if you’re at the Tennessee-Virginia Tech game at Bristol Motor Speedway, the first round is on Sam. Hopefully he’s over 21.
