Watch: Cam Newton wears Santa costume at his annual charity event

Cam Newton wore a Santa Claus costume as he donated $100,000 to the Charlotte community.

Cam Newton dressed up as Santa Claus and visited several children in the Charlotte area as he donated $100,000 in funds and gifts to the community, according to The Charlotte Observer.

Newton's event, the third annual Santa Cam's Surprise Sleigh, involved the quarterback donating money and food, as well as handing out gifts to kids and caroling at a food pantry. The funds will be distributed to the Barringer Academic Center, Silver Mount Emergency Food Pantry, Bethlehem Center and SouthPark mall.

“Everybody’s already in the Christmas spirit, and I love that about this community. As far as the kids, I just want to show my face as much as I can when I get an opportunity to,” Newton said.

He also informed reporters that his second child should be coming "any day now.”
