Although the NBA season schedule is still about a month away from being announced, rumors are trickling out that the Cavaliers hosting the Spurs will be the season opener for the league and will be nationally televised on TNT, according to a report Sunday from Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe.

The news would certainly come as no surprise; the NBA, like most pro leagues, likes to open its season with high-profile matchups. The Spurs visiting Cleveland would mark the first time LeBron James will have faced San Antonio since he returned to Cleveland and since the Spurs dismantled James and the Heat in the NBA Finals in June.

The league opened last year with a game in Miami where the Heat hoisted their championship banner from the previous season before going on to defeat former MVP Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls to kick off the year.
