Former Louisville guard Kevin Ware, who gained national attention when he suffered a gruesome leg fracture in a 2013 Elite Eight game against Duke, tweeted words of encouragement for Paul George after he severely injured his right leg during a Team USA instrasquad scrimmage Friday night.

George will be hospitalized for three days after undergoing surgery to repair an open tibia-fibula fracture. He is expected to miss the 2014-15 NBA season.
George, 24, averaged 21.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the Pacers last season. He earned All-Defensive team and All-NBA third team honors and his second All-Star appearance.
Ware averaged just 1.7 points over nine games with the Cardinals in 2014 before sustaining an injury to the same leg in December and sitting out the rest of the season.
Ware elected to transfer to Georgia State and is eligible to play right away. The 6-foot-2 guard has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
