Twitter fan map shows Lakers are NBA's most national team
A new interactive Twitter NBA fan map shows the favorite NBA team of every county in the United States and every regional district in Canada, based on each team's followers on the social network.
The map also gives a snapshot of where each team's fans come from and allows you to single out a specific team to see where its followers are or compare two teams.
The Los Angeles Lakers are the team that is No. 1 in the most counties across the U.S., while the Toronto Raptors are the No. 1 team in the majority of the Canadian districts. The Miami Heat also have a high national following.
The Lakers dominate California, to the point that the Clippers are the most popular team in a single county in the entire country.
