Nicholson is in his third season in the league since Orlando selected him in the first round of the 2012 draft.
This season Nicholson has averaged 3.1 points and 1.3 rebounds while shooting 35.8 percent from the field.
The report says that Orlando is working with Nicholson's agent "to find a new home" for the 25-year-old, who has played an average of only 8.9 minutes over 18 games.
At the All-Star break, Orlando (17-39) has recorded the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference.
