Report: Goran Dragic views Lakers as 'perfect fit' in free agency
Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic views the Los Angeles Lakers as a "perfect fit" when he hits unrestricted free agency this summer, according to a report from the Los Angeles Daily News.
The Heat acquired Dragic from the Phoenix Suns before Thursday's trade deadline in a three-team deal that also involved the New Orleans Pelicans.
When Dragic becomes a free agent after this season, Miami will be able to offer him $100 million over five years, while other teams would be able to offer $80 million over four years.
From the report:
A person familiar with Dragic’s thinking said he “loves the opportunity” to join the Lakers and sees them as a “perfect fit” when he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. But the Heat can sign Dragic a five-year deal worth up to $100 million, while other teams can offer up to a four-year deal worth $80 million.
Over 52 games this season, Dragic has averaged 16.2 points and 4.1 assists while shooting 50.1 percent from the field.
