Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova was suspended for one game Friday for punching Kings forward Reggie Evans in the stomach during Milwaukee's 116-102 home loss Wednesday. Ilyasova will serve his suspension when the Bucks visit the Pelicans on Friday.
The punch occurred midway through the fourth quarter with Sacramento leading 106-83. Evans and Ilyasova were battling for rebounding position in the paint during a Kings possession, and Ilyasova found himself being pushed underneath the hoop.
As the shot went up, Ilyasova swung his right hand with a closed fist into Evans' midsection before using both arms to shove Evans to the court. Those actions earned him a loose ball foul, but no additional penalty from the referees.
Ilyasova, 26, is averaging 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds this season for the league-worst Bucks (12-48). He is making $7.9 million, and a one-game suspension will cost him roughly $71,000.
