Eagles receiver Nelson Agholor has been accused of sexually assaulting a dancer at a Philadelphia gentleman’s club, Philadelphia Magazine reports.
A dancer at Cheerleaders Gentleman’s Club reportedly told police that she was sexually assaulted inside the building on Thursday around 3 p.m. Agholor was at the club, located nearby the team’s off-season practice site, with “at least two” Eagles teammates, according to the report.
“There was an allegation made against one of the [Eagles] players of a sexual assault that was reported by one of the female dancers,” police commissioner Richard Ross told the magazine. “Our Special Victims Unit is actively running on the investigation.”
According to a report by NJ.com, Agholor agreed to pay the woman $1,400 for an hour in the private room. He only paid her $800 as she left before the agreed upon time. The dancer wanted the full amount.
The Eagles released an official statement on the matter on Friday afternoon.
“We are aware of the police investigation surrounding Nelson Agholor,” the statement reads. “The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment.”
Defensive end Connor Barwin was also present in the club and issued the following statement, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
“As a result of my name being mentioned in conjunction with this alleged incident, I would like to clarify that I was only present at the establishment for a very short period of time and have no knowledge of anything that happened after I left the establishment. I stopped by there for about a half hour to meet my teammates, and left at around 2:30 p.m.“
Agholor, 23, was the 20th pick in the 2015 draft out of USC.
