Barcelona will honor the late Johan Cruyff with a special uniform at El Clasico on Saturday, the team announced.
For the game, the club will shed its world championship shield and replace it with “Gràcies Johan.”
A three-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cruyff won three straight European Cups with Ajax, while also playing for the Dutch national team and Barcelona. He retired from soccer in 1978 and later managed Barcelona to its first European Cup victory in 1992.
Barcelona plays Real Madrid at Camp Nou on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
