The University of Texas says running back Malcolm Brown will miss this Saturday's game at home against eighth-ranked West Virginia game with sprained left ankle.

Brown left after the first quarter of the Longhorns' 41-36 victory over Oklahoma State last Saturday. He finished with three carries for seven yards.

Freshman tailback Johnathan Gray came on in relief and had 12 carries for 68 yards.

Brown, a sophomore, has 245 yards on 40 carries this season and three touchdowns. The 6-0, 225 pound Brown was the No. 1 running back prospect in the class of 2011.
