St. Anthony shines, Simeon disappoints at Hoop Hall Classic

With a bevy of national contenders in action, the Hoop Hall Classic certainly proved to be telling. Brewster, Oak Hill and Findlay continued to separate from the pack -- thumping Tilton, Prestonwood Christian and Simeon, respectively -- while teams like Gonzaga and Mater Dei also showed their worth. The latter's Katin Reinhardt was especially impressive: He made nine three-pointers in a single game against Christ the King.

The biggest surprise may have come from Bishop Gorman, however, who reentered the national picture after upending DeMatha. Shabazz Muhammad and Co. could make a resurgent run at the top, starting with an upcoming showdown with the Pilots. And don't look now, but St. Anthony could be making another push at perfection. Midway through January, here's how things stand.
