2026 Tour Championship Betting Preview: Picks, Predictions, Odds for East Lake

The 2026 PGA Tour season finale is this week, as the top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup Playoffs will head to East Lake Golf Club for the Tour Championship.

In case you forgot, the days of teach golfer starting with a certain score based on their standing are gone. Now, everyone will be on an even playing field when they tee off on Thursday. Tommy Fleetwood won last year's Tour Championship, which remains his only win on North American soil.

Let's dive into the odds and my best bets to win this week's season finale.

Tour Championship Notable Golfers

Scottie Scheffler: The No.1-ranked golfer in the world struggled last week, but he announced at the end of the BMW Championship that it was due to him suffering from hand, foot, and mouth disease. He'll look to bounce back and win the Tour Championship for the second time in his career. He'll get no benefit from starting strokes this season.

Wyndham Clark: Wyndham Clark has put himself firmly in the conversation for the PGA Tour Player of the Year after winning both the U.S. Open and last week's BMW Championship. If he wins this week, he'll be a shoo-in for the award.

Tour Championship Best Bets

Xander Schauffele +1500 (FanDuel)

Xander Schauffele has dominated East Lake over the years. He finished with the best gross score three different times, including posting four other top-7 finishes. His worst finish here was a 13th-place finish in 2024. He's coming off a less-than-stellar performance at the BMW Championship, but he was T7 the week before at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Based on his course history alone, he's worth a bet at +1500.

Sam Burns +1800 (FanDuel)

Just like with Fleetwood last season, I could see a golfer finally get over the hump at the Tour Championship after flirting with victory all year. Sam Burns would fit that mold, as he's been one of the best statistical golfers on the PGA Tour this season but has yet to secure a win.

East Lake is all about strong iron play, and Burns leads the entire field this week in strokes-gained approach over the past three months at +1.42, which is even better than Scheffler at +1.05. He has the skill to win this week, but he'll need to find a way not to let the moment get too big for him on Sunday.

Alex Smalley +6600 (BetRivers)

If I have to bet on a golfer to come from nowhere to win, the one I'm going to target is Alex Smalley at 66-1. He's quietly been playing some great golf lately, finishing T7 at the Wyndham Championship, T24 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and a T16 finish at the BMW Championship. He finished sixth in the field last week in strokes-gained approach, which is going to be pivotal for him if he can keep up his strong iron play this week.
