Why not kick off the weekend with a few home run props for a massive Major League Baseball slate?

Betting on players to hit a home run can be really tough, but it is lucrative if you hit a bet. For example, I’m eyeing one player that is +558 to hit a homer on Saturday and another that is just short of 5/1 to go deep.

Now, the top players have much shorter odds to go yard – such as Shohei Ohtani (one of my picks) – against the Washington Nationals. The reigning NL MVP is +143 to leave the yard on Saturday for the second time in the 2026 campaign.

Every day here at SI Betting, we break down our favorite home run prop picks as a fun way to stay involved in the MLB action. Here’s a breakdown of three players to consider on Saturday, including a potential NL Rookie of the Year target.

Shohei Ohtani to Hit a Home Run (+143)

This season, Ohtani is hitting .217 with one homer, three runs scored and four runs batted in, but I can’t pass him up against the Nationals and righty Jake Irvin.

The long ball has been a major issue for Irvin dating back to the 2023 season. He allowed 20 homers in 24 outings that year, and he followed that up by allowing 29 homers (in 33 starts) and an MLB-high 38 homers (in 33 starts) over the last two seasons.

This season, he’s already given up two home runs in one start (against the Chicago Cubs) despite allowing just three total hits.

So, Ohtani should be in a great spot to lift one out of the yard on Saturday. In his career against Irvin, Ohtani is 4-for-11 (.364) with a double, but he has yet to leave the yard. I think that changes on Saturday afternoon.

In addition to Ohtani, I don’t mind Will Smith (5-for-15, one homer vs. Irvin ) at +378, as well as Max Muncy (4-for-14, three doubles vs. Irvin) at +241 to leave the yard on Saturday.

Sal Stewart to Hit a Home Run (+558)

Cincinnati Reds rookie Sal Stewart is off to a great start in the 2026 season, hitting .391 with two homers, three runs batted in and an OPS of 1.316.

The rookie has already displayed some impressive power, and he has a great matchup against Texas Rangers youngster Kumar Rocker on Saturday.

Rocker is making his 2026 debut after posting a 5.74 ERA with 11 home runs allowed in just 14 appearances last season. The former first-round pick could be a key piece of the Texas rotation in the future, but he’s been prone to the long ball in his MLB career, allowing 12 in 17 appearances.

That’s a great sign for Stewart, who may be undervalued at +558 to go deep.

Trea Turner to Hit a Home Run (+491)

Philadelphia Phillies star Trea Turner has yet to hit a home run this season, but he’s been red hot at the plate, picking up three hits on Friday night against the Colorado Rockies.

Turner currently has a four-game hitting streak going, and he’s taking on a young starter that was knocked around in the 2025 season.

Rockies righty Chase Dollander had a 6.52 ERA in his rookie season, allowing 18 home runs in 21 starts. He hasn’t turned things around yet in 2026, allowing five hits, four runs and three homers in his season debut (four innings) against the Toronto Blue Jays.

So, the Phillies’ offense could be in for a big day on Saturday. Not only has Dollander struggled, but the Colorado bullpen has already given up five homers in the 2026 season.

Turner should be able to extend his hitting streak – and potentially go deep – on April 4.
