Week 2 of the NFL Preseason continues today with a loaded slate of games.

Betting on the preseason can be a tough challenge, but if you dive into the reports of how many starters are playing and then compare how each coach has done in past preseasons, you can find some good spots for a wager.

In this article, I'm going to break down my three favorite bets for Saturday's slate.

NFL Best Bets Today

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

  • Falcons +3.5 (-112) vs. Colts
  • Rams +1.5 (-108) vs. Saints
  • Cowboys vs. Cardinals OVER 37.5 (-112)

Falcons vs. Colts Prediction

Pick: Falcons +3.5 (-112)

The Falcons' first game was a disaster, but let's not forget the amount of variance we see week-to-week in the NFL, especially the preseason. That's why I think setting the Falcons as 3.5-point underdogs in a game in which starters won't play for either team is an overreaction to last week's results.

Based on how both Richardson and Leonard played at quarterback for the Colts in Week 1, I don't know if they can create separation and cover this 3.5-point spread against Atlanta.

I'll take the points with the Dirty Birds.

Saints vs. Rams Prediction

Pick: Rams +1.5 (-108)

As Sean McVay's record in the preseason shows, he doesn't play his starters, which usually results in his team being the underdog, but then they find ways to cover the spread regardless. Week 1 was an example of that, as the Rams were set as underdogs but still beat the Chiefs outright.

It's hard for me to bet against the Rams after the performance Ty Simpson had for them last week. If he plays that well against the Saints, along with Stetson Bennett, it's going to be hard for the Rams not to cover this spread.

Cowboys vs. Cardinals Prediction

Pick: OVER 37.5 (-112)

The Cardinals played in high-scoring games both in the Hall of Fame Game and Week 1. 63 points were scored in their game against the Cardinals, and then 41 points were scored in their game against the Raiders. It's not surprising when you consider that the Cardinals' defense is likely to be one of the worst in the NFL this season.

I'm not going to look too much into the Cowboys' low-scoring 17-7 win against the Seahawks. Their roster from last season hasn't changed enough to convince me their defense has turned things around. I expect them to be all-offense and no-defense again this year.

Even with backups playing in this game, I expect the total to go OVER.
