After missing nearly all of the 2019 season, Giancarlo Stanton is ready to make a healthy return in 2020 and fantasy baseball players are taking notice. Stanton played in just 18 games in 2019 which left fantasy players with him on their roster in a major hole. Now that he’s ready to go, fantasy baseball players are expecting he returns to form with another 100-Pus RBIs which would be the third time in four seasons he hit that mark. According to Fantasy Baseball ADP data  Stanton is currently the 76th player coming off the board and the 20th outfielder. Max Goodman who covers the Yankees joined Sports Illustrated’s Fantasy Baseball analyst to discuss Stanton’s expected production in 2020.

Bill Enright: Is Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton poised for another big season in 2020? Let's find out what SI gambling and fantasy analyst Jaime Eisner and Max Goodman from inside the pinstripes have to say about Stanton. Jamie, I'll start with you, since this is a fantasy draft or past video. Let's talk about. Are you drafting or passing on the Yankees All-Star?

Jaime Eisner: I'm drafting it. I think this is a tremendous opportunity with this late start to the season for him to get healthy off of the calf injury he has. Look, he hasn't reached his potential that we saw in Miami yet in New York putting a decent first season, maybe below expectations.

But last year with the injury, it's limiting him to only a few games. I'm expecting a big bounce back this year whenever the league starts back up. He ranked as my outfielder, 14 and number 52 overall, my preseason rankings. And I don't see him moving much once the league comes back and plays what we expect to be somewhere close to a half season.

Bill Enright: Maxilla Nagoro, do you are you in line with Jaime's analysis or you're expecting something a little different?

Max Goodman: I'm with Jamie 100%. Absolutely. I think that the universal DH being added this season could be huge for Stanton. He's played over 60 percent of his career in the NL East ballparks after spending eight years in Miami. So the adjustment to this season, assuming that the latest MLB proposal comes to fruition, it's going to put the Yankees in a division with the NL East as well. It's gonna be a lot of adjustments for everyone on that Yankees roster. And Stanton has so much experience there and he's going to be able to play and not have to risk further injury in the outfield. He'll be able to hit in those NL East ballparks.

Remember, in 86 games he played DH in 2018. That's his lone full season with the Yankees. He put up what I'm assuming would be MVP numbers in this shortened to 82 game season. When he played DH, he hit .284, had 24 homers, and OPS just under .1000. I think this could be a huge year for him if he can stay healthy.

Bill Enright: All right, Jaime and Mx thank you for your analysis. Plenty more fantasy baseball coverage, you can find it all from Sports Illustrated by going to si.com/fantasy
