Matthysse to fight Morales on Sept. 7

First it was Anthony Crolla, then Jorge Barrios.

But now it appears that hard-hitter Lucas Matthysse (28-2, 26 KOs) will face Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KOs) on September 17 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on the undercard of the clash between Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz.

According to overseas reports, Barrios is having issues with his legal documents to leave Argentina and won't be able to make the fight with Morales. His countryman, Matthysse, has stepped in to take his place.

The vacant WBC 140-pound title will be at stake.

Matthysse's lone two losses as a pro came in controversial decisions on U.S. soil against Zab Judah and Devon Alexander.
