Floyd Mayweather's father says a fight between his son and Manny Pacquiao is "definitely gonna happen."

"It's a fight for the world, man, right there," Mayweather, Sr. told FightHype.com. "It's the biggest fight that has ever been in life, so like I said man, that fight's gonna happen. I'll tell you right now, he never told me the fight's gonna happen, but I'll tell you, the fight's gonna happen."

Mayweather, Jr., 37, is 47-0 in his professional career. Pacquiao, 35, is 56-5-2 as a professional. Both fighters have won a variety of championship belts.

Pacquiao is scheduled to fight American Chris Algieri in Macau in November. Mayweather defeated Marcos Maidana in September. 

Mayweather has two fights remaining on his contract with Showtime.
