SI's Best Photos of Lennox Lewis
Lennox Lewis, the last undisputed world heavyweight champion and the first reigning champion to retire since Rocky Marciano, turned 51 years old on Sept. 2, 2016. Lennox was born in England but moved to Canada at the age of 12. As an amateur he won gold representing Canada at the 1988 Olympic Games after defeating future heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe in the final. The model of the modern super heavyweight, Lewis fought big, with a good jab and huge right hand. Much of his success came from his learning and adapting throughout his career. Nicknamed "The Lion," Lewis was 41-2-1 with 32 knockouts in his professional career (1989-2003).
