Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher said a "miscommunication" between the coaching staff and the equipment staff led to quarterback Jameis Winston coming out in his full uniform during warmups before Saturday’s game against Clemson.

Winston was sent back the locker room and told to change. Fisher placed blame on himself and the staff, saying the error was "our fault internally," according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

Winston was suspended for the entire game after yelling an obscene phrase in the student union earlier in the week and then lying about it later. Backup Sean Maguire went 21/39 for 305 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Seminoles' 23-17 overtime victory.
