Saturday May 23rd, 2015

One day after Houston landed four-star defensive tackle Ed Oliver, three-star defensive tackle Jordan Elliott also committed to the Cougars.

Elliott, who attends Houston's Westside high school, announced via Twitter on Friday that he plans to stay home and play for new coach Tom Herman. Elliott, a 6'4", 301-pound prospect and ESPN's 46th overall recruit in the 2016 class, decomitted from Baylor in April.

Elliott had a strong junior campaign, with 78 tackles (31 for loss) and 12 sacks. He was also considering USC, Utah, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, LSU and Michigan.

Elliott joins Oliver and three-star quarterback commit Bowman Sells as the team's major 2016 recruits.
