No. 12 Baylor and Texas are concluding their seasons on Saturday by renewing their long-standing rivalry, and things got heated in the first quarter.

After defensive back Duke Thomas intercepted Baylor’s fourth-string quarterback, wide receiver Lynx Hawthorne, he was thrown down hard by Hawthorne on an ensuing tackle. Kevin Vaccaro then hit Hawthorne after the play was over, taking exception to his tackle, and earned an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

A fight broke out. Benches cleared, but no one was ejected.

Texas held off Baylor 23–17 to improve to 5–7 on the season.
